Grumman Goose mail carrier aircraft bringing news from the "outside". An occasion of community-wide anticipation! Huge improvement from 1925 once a month Virgina IV mailboat delivering to an anchored out scow at mouth of Salmon River. Weather permitting, settlers then retrieved.
