Abraham Lincoln Parker Sworn Affidavit To Establish Citizenship Of 2 Sons.

Sworn on December 24th, 1940, just days before Abraham's death in Juneau, Alaska. Establishes timeline & place from 1898 of residency, prospecting movements & births of sons Leslie & Bert in Atlin, B.C. Canada. Parker family moved from Atlin to Skagway in 1905, to Douglas in about 1914 and to Strawberry Point in May of 1917.


I, ABRAHAM LINCOLN PARKER, being first duly sworn on oath, depose and says:  That I was born in Western Wisconsin, United States of America, but do not know the name of the locality because it was on a farm; that I was born December 27, 1866; that on August 3, 1890 I married Edith Armenthea Haynes who was born in Indiana in the United States of America; that in 1898 I left Skagway, Alaska, and was engaged in prospecting and mining in Atlin, British Columbia, Canada, during the years 1898, 1899, 1900, 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904 and 1905; that my wife and family came from Skagway, Alaska to Atlin, B. C. Canada, in 1899 and resided with me in Canada until 1905 when we returned to Skagway, Alaska; that while we. were living in Atlin B. C. Canada, and on May 3, 1904, one child, a son named Leslie Franklin Parker was born to us; that prior to that date and on June 30, 1902 one child, a Son Albert Fredrick Parker was born to us; that while living in Canada I always maintained my American Citizenship, and at no time took an oath of allegiance or served any foreign country or nation in any capacity whatever, and both of my sons so born in Canada are American Citizens; that in 1905 I moved and brought my family, and all children, including the above mentioned two sons born in Canada, back to our home in Skagway, Alaska, and my family and myself have always resided and lived in the United States of America since said last named date; that I make this affidavit in duplicate for the purpose of proving the birth and citizenship of my two sons Albert Fredrick Parker and Leslie Franklin Parker, born in Atlin, British Columbia, Canada.
