Gustavus, Alaska Homesteader Hank Johnson Displaying Coyote Kill.

Hank Johnson standing beside his 12' by 18' Rink Creek log cabin with 36 in. spruce shakes handsplit by himself & brother Carl. Lester Rink helped new arrivals build in exchange for help in his fields. Land patent granted 1940. Coyotes were a menace to his vulnerable young calves.
