Notice Location "Heap Skookum" Leslie F. Parker, Glacier Bay, Alaska.

First prospecting trip by Leslie and Abraham Lincoln Parker (age 71) to Glacier Bay following reopening of mining in 1936. "Heap Skookum" discovered by Leslie "Les" Parker Oct. 1, 1937. Witnessed by Abraham Lincoln Parker & recorded Juneau Mining District Dec. 6, 1937.


LODE  CLAIM NOTICE  OF LOCATION

of  the Heap Skookum Mining Claim.

Notice is   Hereby  Given   that  the  undersigned,   having  complied  with  all   the  require­ments  of  the Laws of   the United   States,   and   the  local  laws,   customs and   regulations  has this  1st day   of Oct.   A.   D.   1937  discovered,   located  and   claimed   1500  linear  feet,   horizon­tal  measurement of,  on and  along  the  lode or vein of quartz  or other rock in place bearing gold,   silver,   copper,   lead  or other metals,   with  300  feet of surface  ground  on  each side of  the  center  line of  said  claim;   together with all  dips,   spurs,   angles,  and  variat­ions as allowed by law;   and  all  veins,   lodes,   deposits,   and  ground  within  the lines of said  claim;   situated  in  the Juneau mining district,   Territory  of Alaska.     The general course of  said  vein or deposit as nearly as  can,   at  this  time,   be determined is  Southerly and Northerly.     This  claim  extends 1,000 feet  southerly and  500  feet northerly  from  the discovery  monument on which  this notice  is posted.,   along  the  course of  said   center line of said  claim.     Said  claim  is  more  particularly described  as  follows:     About 1  3/4 miles Southerly from Reid  Inlet  up near Pthomigan (ed: Ptarmigan) Creek Glacier Bay Alaska  each  corner has  a rock  monument  each center  end has  a monument and  one at discovery.
