First prospecting trip by Leslie and Abraham Lincoln Parker (age 71) to Glacier Bay following reopening of mining in 1936. "War Horse" claim by Abraham Lincoln Parker Sept. 28, 1937. Witnessed by son Leslie "Les" Parker & recorded Dec. 6, 1937 in Juneau, Territory of Alaska.

THE CLAIM NOTICE OF LOCATION

of the War Horse Mining Claim.

Notice  is Hereby Given  that  the undersigned,  having complied with all   the require­ments of  the Laws of the United  States,   and  the local laws,   customs and  regulations has this 28  day  of Sept.   A.   D.   1937 discovered,   located and  claimed  1500 linear  feet,   horizontal  measurement of,   on and  along the lode or  vein  of quartz  or other  rock  in place bearing gold,   silver,   copper,   lead   or other  metal,   with  300   feet of  surface  ground   on each   side of  the center line of said  claim:   together with all dips,   spurs,   angles,  and   variations as allowed by law;   and all   veins,   lodes, deposits,   and  ground  within  the lines of said claim:   situated in the Juneau mining district,   Territory of Alaska.     The general  course of said  vein  or deposit as nearly as can,   at  this  time,  be determined  is  Southeasterly and Northwesterly.     This  claim extends 1000  feet  Southeasterly and  500  feet northwesterly from  the discovery monument on which  this notice  is posted,   along the  course of  said center line of  said claim.     Said  claim is more particularly  described as   follows: About ½  mile  easterly  from Reid Glacier and about ½  mile  southerly  from Reid  Inlet,   there is 3 monuments on the Northwesterly  end of said  claim,   the  southeasterly  end of said  claim is inaccessable.

Located In Glacier Bay.
