End Of Dock Structures; Glen & Les Parker Loading/Unloading Scows.

Rare photo end of dock structures in 1937 Gustavus, Alaska. "Way station" (as seen on Rt. where goods & people waited for incoming & outgoing mail, boats & supplies) was welcomed by the homesteaders. Cable & pulley systems assisted transfer of goods. Click for identifications.


Adults on dock: Glen Parker (age 29) handling barrel, Les Parker (age 33).

Children watching Uncles Glen & Les Parker working: Alice White (age 5 & next to Les), William "Billy" White, Jr. (age 3), Anne White (age 10 & leaning on arms).

Alice, Billy, and Anne White, in Gustavus for several months summer of 1937 are children of  May (Parker) and William "Bill" White, Sr.
